Restrict your content to specific domains
Use our Domain Embed privacy setting to restrict where your content can be embedded
🧰 What You Will Need
-
Content uploaded in your library
-
A Playlist, Player, or Widget to embed
Learn to enhance your content security on Membership.io by restricting embedding to specific domains. This guide provides step-by-step instructions to control where your content can be embedded, ensuring it appears only on authorized domains.
Step 1 - Access file privacy options
From inside your File Manager (or Playlist/Widget) click on the Privacy dropdown and select the Domain Embed option. Click Save to change the setting.
Step 2 - Add your chosen domain to the list of allowed domains
Now click the "Domain Settings >" link under Domain Embed to go straight to the Privacy settings. Go to "Approved Domains" and click Edit Domains. From there, you can enter the domain(s) you will be embedding Membership.io content.
Make sure to confirm the new list of accepted domains once you have added them.
TROUBLESHOOTING: If the domain setup causes an error on your site, try other domain formats. Some sites work by using "https://www." or simply "www." followed by your domain. This should fix any 403 errors you were seeing.
NOTE: If you are using Google Sites, you will need to add "https://googleusercontent.com" as an authorized domain in your domain embed settings.
If you run into any questions about this process, please don't hesitate to reach us as help@membership.io.
