Use REV to proofread your audio or video transcript

Learn to refine your audio/video transcript using REV's proofreading services

What can I use this for?

Proofreading your audio or video content transcript can be time-consuming. If you're spending too much time on this task, we suggest using a third-party proofreading service like REV to simplify the process instead of doing everything manually.

Step 1: Download an SRT file of your transcript

In your Searchie Library, click on the file to download the transcript. This will open the file manager tab from the right.

Click the three-dot menu button and select Download > Download SRT.

The .srt file will be downloaded to your computer's local storage. Please take note of the duration of your file (in minutes).

Step 2: Upload your SRT file on REV

You need an account with REV to get started. Note that this is a paid service, but signing up is free.

Once logged in, go to your workspace and create a folder.

Next, you'll need the SRT file uploaded inside your created folder. Click on the folder to open it, then click PLACE NEW ORDER > Human Transcripts.

Click Upload Files and then choose the file to upload.

Once your file is selected, click Upload.

Before checking out, you'll be asked to enter the file's duration in minutes. The duration that you will enter here will determine the estimated delivery time. In our example, the estimated delivery time for a 9-minute video order is 2 hours.

You have the option to add extra items to your order. Once you are satisfied, you may proceed to checkout.

On the last screen, you can check if your invoice billing address is correct. You can edit it as needed and then click Order Transcript.

Step 3: Replace your existing transcript 

Once you have your new SRT file, you must upload it to replace your file's existing transcript. You can find the detailed instructions here
