Add PDF Files to your Hub using a URL

Explore different ways to incorporate doc, text, and PDF files into buttons, cards, and more in your Hub using a URL

🧰 What You Will Need

  • A Hub
  • A file uploaded to your Library

What can I use this for?

Since PDFs cannot be directly uploaded via playlists (which support videos only) or connected to a file source for now, you’ll need to upload your file to your Library first and then add it via its URL. This article explains the different ways to accomplish this.

You can add a PDF (or doc or text) file to your Hub through the following:

This enables you to create clickable elements (buttons, cards, etc.) that can open your PDF in a new tab or the same browser tab.

Step 1 - Upload your file and copy the link

If you have not already done so, go to your Library to upload a PDF or any file such as an image or text document to be used later. Once uploaded, locate the file in your Library.

Now that your file is in your Library, we need to copy the link to your file.

Click the three-dot menu on the file, choose the Share option, and then click 🔗 Copy URL

Step 2 - Open your Hub Editor

From your Library, Head to your Hubs tab and open your Hub Editor.

Create a new Section or open an existing Section.Pick or add a new section

Step 3 - Paste your link into your Section

Add the link to your file inside any URL element.

Every single Section type is compatible with a URL element. See the different examples below:

Be sure to select a URL Feature type. You can't add the link to a File, Playlist or Continued Watching type.

Additional Options and Considerations

  • Other cloud-hosted files: For example, you can share a file from an online Library (e.g., Google Drive) by sharing via URL such that anybody who has the link can access the file.
  • Multiple Elements: You can add the same or different files to various Hub elements by repeating the URL insertion process.
  • Element Flexibility: Almost any Hub element that accepts an external URL can be used. Experiment with buttons, cards, images, or text links to best suit your Hub design.
