Change a file's thumbnail image

Replace the default thumbnail for a file in your account

Step 1 - Access the File Manager

From your Library, locate the file you'd like to change and click on it.

Step 2 - Customize menu

Once inside the File Manager, click Thumbnail.

Step 3 - Upload a new thumbnail or design it with Canva

Upload a thumbnail from your computer or use our Canva integration to design a new thumbnail inside your account.

Use an image with a 16:9 aspect ratio for the best results with custom thumbnails.

Known Issue: If you upload a file with special characters in its name, it will not reflect properly in the thumbnail. As a workaround, please remove any special characters to fix the issue. We are working on a fix for this. (July 25, 2023)
