Drip Content using Segments

Drip content to your members based on their Hub Registration Date

🧰 What You Will Need

What can I use this for?

You can drip content to members based on how long they’ve been registered in your Hub. This is achieved using a Segment condition called Registration Date (Relative), which evaluates the number of days since a member joined, not a fixed calendar date. You can use operators like Less Than, Exactly, and More Than, which will allow you to release content after 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, etc.

This is a great way to create evergreen onboarding where each member progresses on their own timeline. 💪

Step 1 – Select Contact Segment conditions

Go to Contacts, filter by Hub Members, and select the Hub where you want to apply the drip logic.

In the segment builder:

  • Choose Registered

  • Select an operator (for example, More Than)

  • Enter the number of days

Example:

  • Registered more than 7 days ago – Members will see the content starting after their first 7 days in the Hub
  • Registered more than 14 days ago – Members will see the content starting after 14 days in the Hub

Calendar dates vs Relative dates

This condition now uses calendar dates behind the scenes, rather than exact timestamps. That means:

  • Members are grouped by day, not by the exact hour/minute they signed up

  • This prevents issues where members gain access at unexpected times of day

Example:

If a member registered yesterday, they count as 1 day ago, regardless of the exact time they signed up.

If you want to segment members by a specific date (for example, before or after November 1), use a fixed date condition instead. That is a different use case from drip content.

Step 2 – Control Hub content access

Once your Segment is ready, you can use it to control who sees your Hub content.

When your section is ready, set the Visibility of one (or more) Hub sections with your Segment. This means that only members who meet the conditions of that Segment will be able to see that section.

IMPORTANT:

  • Relative registration date is not a specific calendar date. It means "number of days since the member joined."
  • Segments control access, not scheduling. Content becomes visible when members meet the Segment conditions.
  • Visibility must be set to "Segments." If a section is set to Hidden, no members will see it, even if the segment is correct.
