The Contacts tab
A quick breakdown of the Contacts tab (and its sub-menus) in your account, and what it includes
🧰 What You Will Need
An activated Membership.io account
NOTE: We now call Audiences "Contacts." When Contacts join Hubs, they're referred to as Members.
What are Membership.io Contacts?
Your Contacts are a global list of folks added or imported to your Membership.io account. When you bring them into a Hub, they become members of that Hub. A single Contact can join two or more Hubs.
You can access your Contacts here, or click the Contacts tab on the navigation bar.
Profiles
A Profile is created for each person in your Contacts list and contains analytical information about them, as well as details about their Hub access and any Contact Tags.
Open someone's profile by searching for and clicking on their name in your Contacts list and then scrolling down from the window that appears.
Contact Bulk Actions
Use the bulk actions available in the Contacts tab to manage Tags and Hub Access, as well as to delete or export multiple profiles at once. Select profiles using the checkboxes on the right to use the bulk actions.
Contact Segments
Contact Segments allow you to group people based on a specific condition or quality. We create these groups (or Segments as we call them at Membership.io) to control which content someone can access inside a Hub.
Segments can be used for two main reasons:
- To control who sees what content in your Hub
- To pull reports on different user behaviours, such as engagement or inactivity
Contact Imports
The Imports menu can be accessed by clicking the Profile avatar icon and selecting Import Contacts.
Inside the Import Contacts menu, you can Upload a CSV file and view and troubleshoot your Recent Imports.
Contact Exports
The Exports menu will show the entire history of Contact Exports made by your account. If you've recently exported profiles to use the data in another platform, you can find the download for that export under this submenu.
