Use Tags to manage your Contacts and Hub Members
Read our overview of what Contact Tags make possible within Membership.io Hub
What are Contact Tags?
Contact Tags allow you to organize and manage your Contacts and Hub Members. You can also use these to control content visibility by using Audience Tags as Segment filters.
Contact Tags should not be confused with Content Tags, as both are used for different reasons inside Membership.io. Contact Tags are used to manage Contacts, whereas Content Tags are used to manage media files.
If you want to attach the same Contact Tag to many people, you can use the mass import tool or bulk actions inside the Contacts tab to tag multiple people in one go. You can also pass Audience Tags into Membership.io through Zapier.
Where are Contact Tags created?
They can be created in two places:
- From the Data page of your account, or
- Inside the Contact Tag dropdown menu of a Contact Profile.
Here are a couple of actions you can take with Audience Tags:
How To Assign a tag
In your Contacts list, find and click on a profile to which you want to assign a Contact tag.
Scroll to Contact Tags and click Edit.
Select an existing tag or type in a new tag name to add and assign. There is no limit to the number of Contact Tags you can add.
Once you've added all your Tags, click Save. You can revisit this Contact Profile to adjust the tags at any time.
Create a segment using Contact Tags
If you'd like to use your Tags to filter and segment your contacts, you can use your Contact Tags as a filter condition.
Edit or delete Contact Tags
If you ever need to rename or delete a Contact tag, you can do so on your Data page.
