Create text-based posts

Build text content inside your Hub content playlists

Text-based posts are one of the most flexible content types in Membership.io. They’re perfect for creating long-form lessons, articles, or written modules that your members can easily read and search through. You can also attach a featured video, audio, image, or PDF at the top of the post to enhance your lesson structure.

Step 1 – Create a new text-based post

You can create text content from your Hub’s Content tab.

Content Tab

From there:

  • Open or create a Playlist.
  • Click Create Blank Content to add a new text-based post.

Step 2 – Add and format your text

Give your post a Content Name, then begin typing in the main editor.

New Text

The text editor allows you to format your content using:

  • Two (2) heading sizes
  • Four (4) body text sizes
  • Bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough

This gives you flexibility when designing long-form educational content or structured lessons.

Step 3 – Add Featured media

At the top of each text-based post, select Choose Featured Media to upload new files or add existing media from your Library, making your lesson more engaging and visually dynamic.

You can feature:

  • Video
  • Audio
  • Image
  • PDF

Feature Video

Featured Media appears above your text and acts as the primary piece of content for the post.

Step 4 – Customize thumbnails and excerpts

If you add a thumbnail, it will replace the default thumbnail for text-based posts, including those with featured media.

Under More Options, you can edit your excerpt, which appears in playlists and Hub previews.

These details help your content look polished and easier for members to browse.

How text lessons appear to your members

Once published, text-based posts display a read-time estimate and appear inside your playlist alongside other content types. Your members can click to open, read, and interact with your long-form content.
