Trim your content

Trim the beginning and end of your library files

🧰 What You Will Need

  • A paid Membership.io account (Creator plan or higher)
  • Content uploaded in your library

Trimming your files is essential for delivering polished, engaging content for your members. Membership.io's trimming feature lets you easily cut unwanted sections from videos, such as intros or dead air to ensure a seamless experience.

Step 1 - Access the content

Head to your library and locate the content to edit.

Hover your mouse over the content. Click the three-dot menu option that appears, then click Trim.

Click the three-dot menu and choose Trim

You can also access the same setting by opening the file manager and clicking the Trim icon.

Open the file and click the trim icon

Step 2 - Trim the video according to your preference

The slide-out panel acts as your canvas. Here are all the awesome things you can do with the trimming feature:

  • Trim your video clip by dragging the handles on the left and right sides.
  • Move the selected part of video content anywhere in the timeline.
  • Adjust your clip's precise start and end times by clicking on each box and entering the desired time.
  • Use your keyboard's left and right arrow keys to move the playhead five seconds into the timeline for each keypress.
  • You can also snap to the current position of the playhead on the timeline easily. For example, clicking the "Snap to Current Time" button in the Start field allows you to set a new start time for your video content when the playhead is near the left trim handle. Similarly, you can adjust the end time when the playhead is positioned near the right trim handle.

Once you're happy with your edits, don't forget to click the Save button and choose to save it as a new file or replace the existing one

Save new or replace existing

🔥 Hot Tip! Selecting "Saving as New File" won't take additional space or use up your upload hours in your account.

Happy Trimming!
