How do I manage cohorts inside of a Hub?

Membership.io's Segment feature allows you to optimize your Hub for cohorts.

If you have a course or coaching program that you deliver in cohorts, Membership.io is setup with a few easy walks to help simplify your processes for managing multiple cohorts.

In almost every instance, you can use one Hub to host multiple cohorts of the mostly-the-same signature offer. This is especially useful if you only launch a few times a year.

Below you'll a list of tips for following best practices when delivering cohort-based programs.

  • Group cohorts using Segments. Segments allow you to group people together and restrict Hub access to those specific Segments. You can use either Audience Tags or Registration Dates to create cohort-based segments. For more information on how Segments work, check out our FAQ on what you can use Segments for.
  • Organize cohort content using Hub pages. The fact that you can duplicate Hub pages makes it really easy to create a cohort "template" to drop your content into. Simply duplicate the Hub page every time a new cohort joins and lock the content using the cohort Segment you created.
  • Create 1 community space per cohort. Use your cohort Segment to lock down a community space. This means that only members belong to that cohort can post there. Once the cohort wraps up, you can set the Space posting permissions to be Owner only, which means that members will be able to see any posts up until that point but won't be able to post any new discussions to the space. This effectively acts as a "read-only" mode for that space.
