What happens when I add Segments to my content?

You can use Segmentsin Membership.io to show or hide Hub sections or content playlists based on your members’ access level, tags, or behavior. This gives your members a personalized experience.

What happens when you add a Segment

When you attach a Segment to a Hub section or piece of content, it becomes visible only to members who belong to that Segment.

Members outside of the Segment won’t see a “locked” or “restricted” version. The Section or content piece won’t appear to them at all.

How can i attach a segment inside my hub?

Once you've built out your Segment(s), you can attach them to a Hub Content or Section.

Hub Content Visibility

From the Hub dashboard, click Content. Open a playlist and click Segment Access.

Click Segment Access

Select your segment(s), then click ➕ Select Segment. Wherever this content is shared, it will be visible only to that segment.

NOTE: Applying a Segment at the Content level automatically applies the same visibility settings to any Hub Section where the content playlist is added.

Hub Section Visibility

In the Hub editor, you'll find the option to attach a Segment under the Visibility dropdown for each Hub section.

Click on Visibility dropdown

From here, Select Segment from the Visibility dropdown. This will present a pop-out window where you can select (or create) the segment. Click ➕ Select Segment to apply the changes.

Once again, only members included in the Segment attached to the Hub section will be able to see it.
