You can offer a special discounted price to a small group of early members, commonly called founding members, while maintaining the same public price on your Hub’s checkout page. This is done using coupon and promotion codes in Stripe.
How It works
- You create a coupon on Stripe (e.g., 50% or $100 off) and allow coupons on your payment page.
- The members with the promo code enter it at checkout to receive their discounted rate.
- Stripe applies and locks in this discounted rate for as long as their subscription is active.
For example:
- Regular price: $197
- Price adjusted to founding members (w/ coupon): $97
- Public checkout displays $197, but coupon users pay only $97.

Apply the coupon at checkout
Members with the coupon will have to sign up as normal. On Stripe Checkout, they should enter the code to apply the promotion. Example:
Stripe applies the discount before the payment is processed.
Once subscribed, the member keeps that discounted pricing for the duration of their active subscription.
(Optional) Tag founding members in Membership.io
If you want to track or offer special access to founding members:
First, go to the Contacts tab in Membership.io.
Create a Tag called “Founding Member" and add it to members who used the promo code.
