- Understand the Library
- Populate your custom vocabulary terms
- Import and/or upload your content
- Customizing your uploaded content
- Sharing your content
Part 1 - Choose the plan that matches your needs
In order to set up your Library, you’ll need to make sure you have activated a paid subscription that matches your business needs. You can select from four subscription plans depending on what you need:
- Start Plan - $49 monthly or $490 annual
Includes up to 50 hours of video/audio storage and 1 Hub.
- Enterprise Plan - starts at $5000 annual
Unlimited hours of video/audio storage and unlimited Hubs.
Once your account has been activated, watch this quick account tour to get more familiar with the backend of Membership.io. You’ll be spending lots of time here, so we don’t recommend skipping this step.
Part 2 - Understand the Library
Learn about the what the Library is.
The Library tab of your Membership.io account provides a centralized location for for your content. This is where you can upload or connect multiple media sources and experience the convenience of having all your digital assets under one roof. Inside of your Library your Media Files are stored in Folders. You can create Playlists to group specific Media Files together.
What is the difference between a File, Folder, and a Playlist?
💿 Files are any video or audio imported into your Membership.io account. Each file uploaded to your Membership.io account is automatically transcribed, captioned, and made searchable by word spoken upon import. Magic! 🪄🐇
📁 Folders are used to help you internally sort your video and audio files. Content imported from a third-party app is automatically sorted into a Folder named after that source. Learn more about how to use Folders here.
🎞️ Playlists are a curated list of Membership.io files you can share with your audience. Playlists can be shared through the Playlist URL, embedded in another platform, or added to a Hub.
🔍 A note about how the search feature works
Media content uploaded into Membership.io is automatically transcribed, captioned, and made searchable.
Part 3 - Populate your custom vocabulary terms
Use a custom vocabulary list to improve transcription accuracy.
Before uploading any content into your Library, you’re going to take one quick but super important step to prime your account for transcription accuracy.
Custom Vocabulary is a list of specifically spelled terms that are used to boost transcription accuracy.
Head to the Transcripts page inside of your Membership.io account to populate your custom vocabulary list. Take the time before importing any content to add any niche terms with unique spelling. Having a list of these terms will help your video and audio content get transcribed correctly as your content is being uploaded into your account. Any terms added to your custom vocabulary will be applied towards any future uploads. This simple step can save you hours and hours of work. 😎
Once you have set your custom vocabulary, let’s jump into uploading content!
Part 4 - Import and/or upload your content
Move any video or audio content into your Membership.io Library.
There are two ways to upload any of your existing content into your Membership.io account. The process you’ll need to take to get your content into your account depends on where your content is currently hosted:
- Importing from a supported media application
If you have existing video or audio content stored in a supported media application, you can bring your existing content into your Membership.io account in a few simple clicks by connecting your media application(s) to your Membership account. You will connect your App in the Apps tab and control which files you import in the Library tab. - Uploading content from other sources and your computer
If your content is not stored on a supported media application, you can upload it from your content. If your content isn’t currently on your computer, you’ll want to download your files from your current video hosting platform so that it lives on your computer. From there, your files can be uploaded into Membership.io from your computer.
- Vimeo
- Zoom
- YouTube
- Google Drive
- Dropbox
- OneDrive
- Tiktok
- Wistia
- Obvio
- Soundcloud and Apple Podcasts
📂 Content uploaded will be sorted in Folders. Folders are used to help you internally sort and manage your files. Content imported from a supported media source will appear in Folders created by your media app. Your members will not see your Folders. We recommend sorting your content into Folders based on the type of deliverable or content type each file belongs to.
You can create as many Folders as you need to keep your content organized. 👍
You can also categorize your content using Content Tags, which especially useful if your content belongs in multiple locations. Think of the Library as your private workspace where you can effectively organize and manage your content, preparing it to be effortlessly shared wherever it’s needed across your platform.
Part 5 - Customizing your uploaded content
Upload thumbnails, adjust descriptions and attach supporting documents and resources.
Once all your video and audio content has been imported, you’ll want to take the time to organize your content, tag files based on what topics they fall under, update descriptions, and upload any supporting documents and attachments. Clicking on any uploaded file will open that file's File Manager.
📑 Add file descriptions, attachments and video thumbnails
You can customize each file’s description, chapters, thumbnail and attachments inside the File Manager. You can also use Copilot to generate file summaries with a little help from AI.
NOTE: Attachments best live alongside video and audio content. You can also upload PDFs as standalone media files.
📝 Review your transcripts
Each video and audio file uploaded into your account is automatically transcribed and captioned by AI. You can use the transcript editor to make any necessary changes.
🏷️ Tag your content for granular organization
While Membership.io does not have subfolder capabilities, you can utilize content tags as a more granular form of content organization for further organization.
🎞️ Setup content automations
Membership.io can automatically send any video files to the right destination(s) using content automations. Any content currently in a folder or with a specific tag can be auto-delivered to your members inside your Hub. This allows you to get content like your Zoom recordings straight to your audience as soon as your call is uploaded. 🤯 You can automate your Playlists based on Folders or Content Tags.
Part 6 - Sharing your content
Share your searchable files with your members.
Now that your content is uploaded, organized, and ready to share, Membership.io makes it easy to deliver your content exactly where your audience needs it. You have several options for sharing your content:
- 🔗 Share using a Link: share individual media files by copying your file's direct link.
- 🎞️ Create and share a Library Playlist: Create a Library Playlist to bundle multiple files together into a collection. This is the easiest way to share any coaching call replays with specific clients.
- 🖥️ Create a Hub to sell your content: Ready to begin to build out your members area with your content? Head to the Hub Content tab inside your Hub editor to create Hub Playlists.
- 🤖 Create an AI chatbot trained on your content: Take content sharing to the next level by creating your own AI chat plugin (sometimes called Wisdom) trained on your specific content.
🚨 NOTE: Library Playlists and Hub Playlists are separate entities.
